This piece of Montréal is part of ‘Discoveries: Montreal’, a series of artworks representing the boroughs on the island of Montreal. This particular painting was created as the center piece of the series, it contains at least one building from every single borough on the island and is therefor a well rounded representation of the city as a whole.

When I first came to Montreal I was immediately struck by the distinctly different atmosphere of the different boroughs. I thought it would be an interesting project to see if I would be able to create a series of different works based on that observation. The research for this project taken me to places I would never have come otherwise. I’ve greatly enjoyed this journey of discovery and feel like I know the city a lot better then when I first came here. With this series I hope the viewer will make some discoveries as well.

This mixed media painting on wood is created using a combination of image transfer and acrylic paints and mediums. The artwork comes with a wire on the back for hanging, it is signed on the front and has title, date, artist name and a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back.

Be advised that colors and brightness depend on your monitor and the digital picture may be slightly different from the original work of art.
